Community Tree Planting at Harith Ibnu Yacqub School
On 22 April,2022, students, teachers, and community members came together to celebrate World Environment Day through a meaningful tree planting ceremony at Harith Ibnu Yacqub School, located just outside of Baidoa. This event not only marked a commitment to environmental sustainability but also fostered unity and teamwork within our community.
As participants gathered, the excitement was palpable. Armed with shovels and saplings, students learned about the importance of trees in combating climate change and promoting biodiversity. Together, they planted 20 trees, each representing a step towards a greener, more sustainable future.
The ceremony included educational sessions where students engaged with local environmental experts, learning about the ecological benefits of trees and the role they play in creating a healthier planet.
This initiative signifies our dedication to sustainable practices, instilling in our youth the values of environmental stewardship and community involvement. Together, we are making a difference, one tree at a time!
